Enlil is an ancient Mesopotamian god, known as the Lord of Air and Lord of Wind. He was one of the most important gods in the Sumerian pantheon, often regarded as the father of the gods due to his role as the head of the assembly of the gods. Enlil's symbol is the storm bird, a creature with the body of a lion, the head of an eagle, and the tail of a snake. He was associated with thunderstorms, winds, and other atmospheric phenomena. In the Enuma Elish, the Babylonian creation myth, Enlil plays a significant role in the creation of humanity by suggesting to the gods that they create humans from clay to serve them.
