The name Sicarius, often transliterated as Sicarii, is of Latin origin and derives from the word 'sica,' which refers to a short curved dagger used by Roman gladiators in antiquity. The name Sicarius is believed to have been borne by some Jewish rebels active during the First Jewish-Roman War (66-73 CE), who were known for their use of concealed daggers, or sicae, in their assassinations.
In 2021 alone, eight babies were named Sicarii, making it a total of eight children with that unique name.
