Maruin appears to have had periods of popularity with a peak around the late 1920s, but it seems to have fallen out of favor by the mid-1930s as there are no recorded births between 1930 and 1936. The name reemerged in the late 1930s and early 1940s with five births each in 1938 and 1945, but it has not been a common choice since then, as indicated by the total of just 35 births over these years.
