The city's name originates from the Arabic word 'Makkah,' which means 'place of prostration' or 'a place where one bows down.'
The name Makkah experienced a consistent increase in popularity from 2016 onwards, with a significant jump from 11 births in 2019 to 17 in 2021, and remaining high with 13 births in 2022.
