Ariadne, of Greek mythology, was renowned as the daughter of King Minos and Queen Pasiphae of Crete. She is often celebrated for her courageous assistance to Theseus, who had arrived in her kingdom tasked with slaying the monstrous Minotaur residing within the Labyrinth. Ariadne provided Theseus with a sword and a ball of thread, enabling him to navigate the Labyrinth's intricate passages and ultimately defeat the Minotaur. This act demonstrated her wisdom and resourcefulness, as she also facilitated their escape from the island by betraying her father's plans to capture them. After their successful flight from Crete, Ariadne married Theseus, but legend has it that he abandoned her on the island of Naxos during their journey back home.
