Sharona, of Hebrew origin, means "song" or "serenade." It's a variant of the more common Shoshana, which also shares the same meaning. The name Sharona was brought into prominence by American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow, who named her debut album after this unique moniker in 1993.
"Sharona's popularity as a baby name peaked in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with a significant spike in 1979 (40 births) and 1980 (68 births). However, it declined steadily thereafter, reaching a low of only 5 births in 2001 and 2021."
