Zorya, of Slavic origin, is derived from the word 'zoria' meaning 'dawn'. It signifies the morning star, Venus, often referred to as the herald of dawn in Slavic mythology and folklore. In Ukrainian culture, Zorya is also the name of one of two sisters who guard the gates of heaven, according to ancient legends. The name Zorya evokes images of light, hope, and new beginnings.
"Zorya saw a notable increase in births from 2019 onwards, with numbers rising steadily until reaching a peak of eight births each in both 2022 and 2023. Over the course of these years (2000 to 2023), there were a total of thirty-two Zoryas born."
