Veanne is of French origin, derived from the Breton name Gwenrann, which means "white wave" or "fair-haired". It is a variant spelling of Guenane and Gwenan, also of Breton origin. Veanne was popularized by the French author Gustave Flaubert in his novel 'Three Tales', where it is used as the name of one of the protagonists.
"Veanne saw five newborns bring its total to five in 1956."
