Robinho, born Ronaldo de Assis Moreira on January 25, 1984, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for S.C. Braga in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Born and raised in São Paulo, Robinho began his career with local club Santos FC, where he made his senior debut in 2002. He quickly established himself as one of Brazil's most promising young players, earning the nickname "Robaça," which translates to "little robber" due to his skillful dribbling and ability to steal the ball from opponents.
Robinho's impressive performances at Santos caught the attention of European clubs, and in 2005, he joined Spanish giants Real Madrid for a then-world record fee of €24 million. Despite initial struggles with injuries and adaptation, Robinho became an integral part of the Los Blancos squad, helping them win La Liga in the 2006-07 season and the Champions League the following year.
In August 2008, Robinho transferred to Manchester City for a British record fee of £32.5 million, becoming one of the most expensive players at that time.
