Facundo is of Spanish and Italian origin, meaning "lively" or "vigorous". It is composed of two elements: 'facere' which means 'to make', and '-undus', which denotes a male individual. The name Facundo gained prominence in Argentina during the 19th century, as it was the name chosen by the famed Argentine leader Juan Manuel de Rosas for his son. Consequently, it has since been strongly associated with Argentine culture and history.
"Facundo experienced a notable surge in popularity during the early 2000s, with a peak of 20 births in 2005. However, it has since declined and fluctuated between 6 to 8 births annually from 2010 onwards."
